CAS 2~ Day Two

Day 2 was all about one layer cards ~ so that meant some masking techniques.  I tried a few  different things to make a mask.

CAS2~ Day Two

Tried some Tim Holtz masking sheet... but it was a bit thick for stamping.  Great for the the sponging so this is attempt #2 using computer paper. I used some wide post-it tape to make the masks for the butterflies.  I added some faux stitching to emphasis the heart.    I coloured my butterflies with Copics and added some Sukura glitter pen on the butterflies.  Again, I couldn't resist some gems.   All the stamps are from Hero Arts.

I'm also entering this into the Heart Challenge at The Sisterhood of Crafters  and Anything Goes at Simon Says Stamping.

Thanks for visiting.

CAS 2 ~ Day One

I enjoyed last January's CAS card on-line card class so decided to do CAS 2.  Due to the time the posts come and having to work full time, I'm always nearly a day behind.  I managed however, last night to get a Day 1 card made.   I used Kristina's sketch and adapted her card to fit my stamps.

CAS2-Day One

I took a panel of white card and used a Dylusions stencil, Wet Cement ink and sea sponge I sponged and pounced the ink.   I punched the circle and edged the entire panel with the ink.  I used a Hero Arts sentiment inside the circle.  As my coloured sentiment suited being at the top of the circle, that's where it went.   I know it is a CAS card, but I felt it needed just a touch of colour... hence the little flowers and dots of Liquid Pearls.

I am pleased with the results.  And day 2's post was fabulous.   I will try and get a card made later this evening... I will get a bit behind as I'm off to the beach again this weekend.... this time we are taking a few extra days... not coming home till Wednesday, which is a public holiday for us... two short weeks in a row.  6th of February is Waitangi Day, when we commemorate the signing of the Treaty of Waitangi .  I won't have much access to a computer... only my i-phone.  I will be scheduling a post or two so you won't miss me!!!   I'll be catching up with the classes next week.

Thanks for stopping by.  I appreciate all my visitors.

"Ted" @ Red Carpet Studio

I'm a day late with my Red Carpet Studio post, as we have been away for a long weekend at Mangawhai, to celebrate Auckland Anniversary Day.  So here  goes....

This week's challenge is inspired by the 2012 comedy movie, "Ted" starring Mark Wahlberg.

This week's card challenge is to include a bear on your card. It can be any kind of bear - a die cut, a stamp, a digital image, etc.

Our fabulous sponsor this week is Squigglefly! One lucky, randomly chosen winner will receive their choice of three digital images.

The design team got to work with some images from Squigglefly.  I chose this one
 And here is my card.

I used a sketch from Try Stamping on Tuesday

I used some PP I had lying on my desk and some Stampin' Up! ribbon.  The pink and blue daisy edging were sent to me by Loly.    I coloured my image with Copics and dotted it with a colourless blender to create the illusion of fur.    My sentiment is from BrossArt Designs ~ a freebie from Tracey.  Once it was printed I cut it with a Spellbinders die.

Do pop over to Red Carpet Studio and see what the other DT members have done and come and join us in the challenge.  I look forward to seeing your Teddy cards.

Thanks for visiting today.

For today's hop I made this card

With all my heart

It's the anniversary card I popped into my hubby's suitcase as he was away on our anniversary earlier this week.   I started with some white card stock that I folded into a square card.  I printed out some Paper Smooches digi flowers  and coloured with Copic and cut out.  The words are a die cut from Simon Says Stamp  as is the the Daisy die.  The heart is a Spellbinders die.

We also have some fabulous sponsors giving away prizes to those who comment on every stop of both days the hop!
3 digital stamp sets of the winner's choice

$6 gift certificate

"Whooo's Your Valentine?" Kit from Close to My Heart

12 yard ribbon set - Winner's choice of Red Hot Lover or The Yummy Collection

Hero Arts Something New

This month's challenge over on the Hero Arts blog includes a theme of "New"... be it a new stamp, a new technique, a new colour scheme.   My "new" was a stamp I recently purchased.

Clock collage

I used some Neenah Dessert Storm card and stamped the watch gears in each corner with Cup'o'Joe ink.  The sentiment is also from Hero Arts.   I trimmed the panel and matted onto some black card before adding to the card base.   I added some white faux stitching and some red Kindyglitz to the hearts.  In the centre of some of the gears, I added Glossy Accents.

This was actually the second time I did the main stamping.  My first attempt got smudged.  Rather than chuck it out, I cut some of it up into an ATC

Watch Gear ATC

I stamped the "Celebrate" where I smudged it.  I'll probably make a card to put this one at some stage.

My exercise programme is going well... expect for yesterday when I had a dodgy tummy... didn't make it to the gym.  So did a half hour walk in the 26C heat at lunch time and 30 mins on the exercycle tonight.  Had my blood tests today so hoping all this exercise has reduced my blood sugars..  Just have to wait till Friday morning to find out.

Hope all is going well  in your  part of the world.   Summer is well and truly here, it's been nice and warm.   Hoping it stays till the weekend, as it's Auckland Anniversary on Monday and a day off!!!  Yeah!  We are heading off to the beach with our friends....

Thanks for stopping by.

Playing with Teal.

The challenge over at Crafting your passion this week is "Totally Teal" The design team used images from Saturated Canary ( who is one of the sponsor this week)  It made me think about an image from Saturated Canary called "Nevaeh" that I have.  So I printed her out and this is what came about.

You're so special

I coloured her dress with Copics - blending together a blue and a green to get a teal colour.  I topped this with some baby blue stickles.  Added some Crystalline Kindyglitz for her underskirt.  For her hair colour, I used some Warm Greys and a lemon yellow.    I fussy cut her out.  For her background, I cut a Spellbinders die and inked it with Peacock Feathers while still in the die.  I layer Nevaeh over top.  The flourishes in the corners are a new Delites die from Spellbinders.  I trimmed it so I could put a bit in each corner.  I added some little punched flowers and gems.  The sentiment from Hero Arts is stamped on a Spellbinders Tag die.   The PP is from a freebie from Katy Knight that was in a magazine from a couple of years ago.

I'm enjoying my time on my own, but do miss hubby a bit!  No-one to talk to in the evening.   Only a few more days and Thursday I have a visit from my son to look forward to.  His girlfriend is working till 8.00pm so he's coming round for dinner with me.

Thanks for visiting.  Hope the week has started well for you.
