Disney challenge @ Red Carpet Studio

This week's challenge at Red Carpet Studio is a fun one... being the 5th Sunday of the month, it's a combined design team challenge and the theme is Disney!

Create any Disney-themed project! Cards, layouts, 3D projects, altered items... it's completely up to you!

Our fabulous sponsor this week is The Paper Parade! They are giving away a $25 gift certificate to the randomly chosen winner of this week's challenge.

I surfed some Disney sites to find a image for a card.  Boy there are some awesome images out there.

Tinkerbelle

After much fun looking I found this delightful image of Tinkerbelle.  Once I printed it out, I coloured with Copics and Stickes.  I matted it onto some dark blue Bazzil.  The next frame was made with a Fiskars edge punch cut into strips and mitred in the corners.   The fabulous glittery background card is from a Die Cut With a View mat stack.  I finished off with some blue flowers.

Hop over to the challenge blog to see the  all the delightful creations from my teamies on the card DT and the girls from the Layout DT, and link up your own creation.  Would love to have you join us.

My plants are all in the ground and today was nice and warm to give them a great start.  Hopefully an abundance of tomatoes and lettuces in a couple of months.

I'm not a Senior Citizen.....

Here in New Zealand when you turn 65 you are eligible to receive national Superannuation and are classed as a Senior Citizen.  One of the leaders at work is turning 65 shortly and I was asked to make her a card..... She is always saying she is NOT going to be a Senior Citizen... but stay young and frivolous!!!!!!!!!  ( me too when I make this age in 10 years)

So I decided to do a humorous card ... and where better to find the perfect image... than Bugaboo Digital stamps.    I never fail to find something just perfect there... and this was no exception...

65th Birthday

I changed the sentiment to suit what Barbs always says!

I used Copics to colour the image and some pretty Summer PP's.  The design is loosely based on a sketch from My Favorite Things.

Entering this into Simon Says Stamp ~ anything goes Challenge.

Tonight Daylight Saving Time starts in NZ... springing forward one hour!  This really is the sign that summer is on its way.  Hubby put up the umbrella on the deck and we went out an bought tomato plants, lettuce plants, cucumber plants and pea seeds.  So tomorrow will be out in the garden planting!    Today the temperate was up to 20 degrees ( 68 F) so it's warming up.

Enjoy your weekend all.

Last of the Workshop cards

The final cards we made at the workshop

Christmas Embossing

This one involved some embossing and distressing.  Plus making our own flower.

And this one is my favourite of the day

Pretty in pink

Love the tulle we used... soft and wide.  Just love the vintagey look we achieved with the embossed panel, torn PP and soft spray of a home made glimmer mist in pink.

I have decided that I will be using the design of the Christmas card this year for some of my cards.  I've adapted it already.... pop over to my Flickr photo stream for a look.

Planning a nice quiet weekend... the forecast is for rain.. so hope to maybe spend some time crafting.   Enjoy your weekend.

Workshop Part 2

Welcome to part 2 of Sunday's workshop.

Biscuit Topper

We made the topper to go with the biscuit that Jacque's daughter made.  The snowflake was punched onto the biscuit with a Stampin' Up! biscuit stamp.   The topper uses a cute little snowman stamp.

Candle

This candle was made with a wheel stamp... stamped onto tissue paper.

Little Bird

The bird stamp was in the goodie bag we got, so of course, I had to order the matching punch....I like how this card turned out.

The last two cards we made, I'll share later in the week.   Tomorrow my hubby is back from his trip to Singapore.  I can imagine he will be tired after 12 hours travelling, 2 full days on his course, and then leaving Singapore at 9.00pm the same night....he gets in lunch time tomorrow so can have a rest in the afternoon.... I've missed having him around the last few nights....it's not so nice sitting on your own when you are not used to it!

Enjoy the rest of your week.

Sunday Workshop

NB- Photo heavy post!
This past Sunday I attended a Stampin' Up! workshop held by Jacque at her house.  I've not been to one of Jacque's fun days... but I'll certainly be doing more.  I had a great day.... 7 1/2 hours of full on fun.... ( you can see Jacque's post here)

There were 12 of us there...plus Jacque and her girls and cats!

The last photo is one of Jaque's daughters.  She is holding up Jacque's sample of our first project.  A beautiful Flower Wreath... made with heaps of flowers.

Here is my version.
Flower Wreath

This took around 3 hours.... luckily Jacque had the flowers all die cut so it was just a matter of choosing the combinations and sticking them together and onto the wrapped wreath.

We stopped and had lunch after this project and then worked on some more projects ~ cards, a candle...a topper for a cookie... but I'll share these later in the week....

Thanks for stopping by and making your way to the end of this long post... much appreciated.
